Antique Blake & Reidy 5" Outside Calipers, Pat. April 13, 1915 Worcester Mass
The only mark on these is the patent date, which is for Patent 1,135,095 issued to Frederick I. Blake and Michael D. Reidy of Worcester, Massachusetts for an inexpensive improvement to calipers or dividers.
Their general aim was to make a less expensive instrument by simplifying the adjusting mechanism, which they achieved by way of an L-shaped screw attached to one leg, and passing through an eye in the other leg, with an adjusting nut, resulting in a minimum number of parts.
Condition is good, with a nice dark patina from sitting in an old machinist toolbox for many years.
